The SelClene Agency Offer – A unique partnership arrangement

…..We can now, for the first time, offer you an agency with SelClene with no up front franchise fee. There is no up-front cost to you in franchise fees, area license fees, or training material and starter packs. Entry into our business (in areas where we need agents) is now FREE – less a relatively tokenistic ‘commitment fee’ to demonstrate to us you are serious about our business!

 

How it works:

(1) You confirm your interest by emailing us the enquiry form below.

(2) If you are still interested, you will agree over the phone to paying us a small ‘commitment fee’ of £250.00. (plus VAT). This covers one night's B&B for up to two persons sharing an en-suite room in the castle, the initial stationery and marketing literature you need to get started, includes ten client packs, ten cleaner packs and 12,000 client promotion cards, plus a day's basic training in our call centre.

(3) Additional training is available during the year at any time and as you feel necessary, at £100 per day (including B&B)  

(4) We train you in 3 simple basics – (i) delivery of the GIRL cards, (ii) how to interview, vet and train workers and (iii) how to register clients who enquire about your service. These 3 basics you’ll understand within 2-3 hours at our first meeting. 

(5) Back-up telephone / email support is also provided free, along with a detailed training manual complete with forms and all the questions and answers you will need when meeting workers and clients. 

(6) After a full introduction into how it all works we provide you with all the paper work you need to register workers and clients who enquire. We provide you with the first 12,000 Client creation GIRL cards to get you started (this should get you your first four or five clients). If it does not we provide you with additional client mailing literature until you do, at 50% of the franchise ordering cost.

(7) We prefer to sign up new agents in SelClene with a local 'partner' (a trading alliance) at the same time. You have local help so you are not on your own! This is because we need you to promote your business seriously.  We can arrange a meeting between you and a local business interested in joint marketing.  You are given some of their flyers for you to deliver with yours and you will give them some of your flyers to deliver with theirs.  Alternatively you can arrange this trading alliance locally, yourself.

(8) A local trading alliance  is worth about £10,000 a year to you as it saves you so much effort in promoting your service locally. You will gain new clients at double the normal rate as for every 1,000 flyers you deliver, your opposite number will deliver a 1,000 flyers for you – FREE! In return, you will need to honor your commitment to us and to your ‘partner’ to actually do the required local marketing. The more people you share local marketing with, and the more local leafleting you do between you, the more clients you get and the more income you make.

(9) We handle your enquiries for you at our call centre, so there is no need to learn how to handle incoming calls from clients and workers.  We do this for you and book only those who are interested in to appointments for you to register with the agency.  

(10) You will then register clients with the agency.  There is no selling involved as we only book appointments with enquiries who are serious about joining the agency either as clients or as workers.  You need to be presentable and smart when you go to appointment we arrange for you.  You also need to understand the training material we give you.

(11) We give you an exclusive trading area - no one else will be invited to be a SelClene agent in 'your' area.  You run your own business but you will not be on your own.  You are in a unique partnership with others non-competing and complementary business and in partnership with us.  

(12) Within a year, at four clients per month minimum, you will have roughly 40 clients, assuming part time working, around 15 hours a week.  You will earn an average gross profit per client of £161.88 per year.

As your partner, what do WE do for you?

We

     (i)      run the call centre and handle all your client and worker enquiries

     (ii)     train you and supply you with an exclusive trading area of 100,000 householders

     (iii)    supply all clients and worker contracts and paperwork and

     (iv)    go halves with you on the printing of the client creation GIRL cards

And what do you do?

You

    (i)      deliver client creation cards to generate enquiries for us to book into appointment,

    (ii)     sign up clients who want to use the service, and

    (iii)    register workers to work for clients. (NB: You do not work for clients yourself - this is a 'management' style franchise).

 

How is the client revenue spilt between us?

   (i)      Income from clients is split 50:50 after VAT between us both.

   (ii)     By end of Year One you should be earning a part time income
            of (gross profit) between £6,472.20 (40 clients) and £8,094
            (50 clients).

   (iii)    This assumes about 15 hours a week, based from home.

   (iv)    By the end of Year Two, you should be able to double these
            figures.

 

 

An 'agent' is not a full franchise - it is an assisted entry offer.  We share marketing costs and share the work involved.  You get a feel for the business and ensure it works in your area, while taking no significant financial risk to yourself.
  •  Once you earn income from clients, there’ll come a point when you won’t want to share income 50:50 with us. You may then opt to upgrade your Agency to a full franchise. The commitment fee is to weed out the uncommitted. The first 8 agents we signed up were not charged anything. We drove an average 8 hours round trip to see them, gave them £240 worth of marketing material, and £30 worth of client and cleaner packs, plus four hours of our time in training and that was the easy part! The hard work is before we even meet. Before each meeting, we arrange a local business for the trading alliance, and also get them to attend the meeting. An exchange of promotional leaflets takes place. Just arranging each trading alliance can take two or three days of marketing effort, telephone calls and co-ordinating people to make it to the first meeting. Three full time staff were employed at our office on this work.

Having set up the first 8 agents, two changed their minds and dropped out having not even delivered any client leaflets. In one case, their trading partner had already delivered several thousand of the new SelClene agent’s flyers and we were getting enquiries at our call centre. These, and our time, were all wasted for the 2 that dropped out. Two more have since been terminated by us for not getting started at all. So we need to be sure we attract people who INTEND TO WORK THE BUSINESS!

What do I get for my £250 commitment fee?

The actual value of what you get is much higher. Here is a very rough breakdown:

(i) Preparation time in arranging trading alliance meeting assuming 8 man hours @ £7.00/hr in initial phone calls, co-ordinating and setting up first trading partner for you £ 56.00

(ii) B&B in an en-suite for up to two persons sharing double room £ 90.00

(iii) Training by Call Centre staff £ 50.00

(iv) 12,000 A6 client creation cards at 2 pence / card £ 240.00

(v) Client and Worker Stationery, booklets, contracts, & associated forms - ten sets of each at £1.50 per set approx (20 stationery sets) £ 30.00

(vi) Training Manuals, videos etc (basic cost of printing, copying) £ 8.00

(vii) Senior management time in training you £ 80.00

(viii) Estimated value* of trading alliance assuming £1,000 leaflets per week

being delivered for you FREE by your trading partner, X standard £35/1,000 

delivery cost and assuming 48 weeks per annum actual delivery £1,680.00

Total value to you and cost to us in conducting our first meeting therefore £2,234.00

* The value of the trading alliance is very significant but will vary up or down depending on number of leaflets delivered free by your trading partner and number of weeks actual delivery. If the trading alliance lasts more than one year, then the value will be higher over a period of years.
