A circular walk from the Abercrave Inn, along the River Tawe in Abercrave and returning via Caehopkin.

From Craig-y-Nos Castle a stroll around the grounds and a visit to Dan-yr-Ogof Caves.

From the Abercrave Inn, a walk to the foothills of the Cribarth Mountain, then through forest to the village of Cwmgiedd, returning along bridleways and by the side of a river.

From Maes-y-Gwernen Hotel
From Maes-y-Gwernen Hotel, School Rd, Abercrave a walk through Caehopkin and along the course of the old railway line to Ystradgynlais. Good views both up and down the valley and of the Ynyscerdwyn Iron Works Heritage Site. Return via the river Tawe and the old canal bank with its lock cottages.

From the Trecastle Road
From the old Trecastle road head over the stream and up the hill in a North Westerly direction following the path above the cutting of the Nant-y-llyn stream. Arrive at Llyn-y-Fan-Fawr lake then climb the steep slope of Fan Brycheiniog and follow the edge around to look down on to Llan-yFan-Fach lake way below.

Classification: Energetic. Begins with a long ascent and later an
even steeper ascent, but does not require any climbing. Can be hard on the
leg muscles coming down.

Craig y Nos Farmhouse
From Craig-y-Nos Castle through the country park and over the fields and lanes to the Farmhouse in Penycae, where you can take a well earned rest, before returning to the Castle.
